This was the first floor with the great hall. From the great hall the stairs at the far right were used to give access to the ground floor. The paintings are paintings of Black Duncan the founder of the castle. The staircase was concealed behind a wood panel on one wall.
This room was formerly a cellar for storage but has been converted to a dining area for B&B customers. The remains of the bottle dungeon. It appears that most of it has been filled in.
Both of these rooms were available in the B&B. The one to the right is said to be haunted by the Blue Lady. In 1896, the owners sister died and on windy nights the piano can be heard.
